- I am a runner, I've run 6 marathons and every race distance between that and 5K. I have done 1 sprint triathlon so far. I started this blog when I went back to college in Jan. 2009 at the age of 46.(thus the title, "runner nerd"!) I was the world's oldest college student! I graduated December 15, 2012 first in my class! I really was a nerd! After a long career in EMS, I needed a change. Since earning my degree, I work in a hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. I have 2 grown up kids.

June 7 - Detroit Race for the Cure. Detroit, MI

July 4 - Firecracker 5 miler. Hanover, MI

Sept. 7 - Chicago Half Marathon, Chicago, IL (to celebrate my 14th 39th birthday!)

Oct. 25 - Headless Horseman 5K. Howell, MI
Oct. 26 - Wicked Halloween Run 10K (as a 65 min pacer)
